History of TCS:

The Teamster Center Services Fund was established under an agreement and declaration of Trust dated June, 1960 by participating Welfare Trust Funds.  The Fund’s purpose is to provide advice and referral services related to treatment for behavioral health (mental health and substance abuse)    issues, explore and develop opportunities for group purchasing of healthcare and/or healthcare related services, and to develop and present educational programming for Fund Administrators, Trustees and staff.  

The present benefit program known as Teamster Center Services began on February 1, 1978.  The agency provides an employee assistance program for participants and dependents which includes behavioral heath advice and referral services.  Participating welfare funds can receive a reduction in the administrative fees to access various medical hospitalization networks, access to a network of behavioral health treatment facilities, and may participate in various educational programs.
